Engineer Training Drum Heating TJ8300 / TJ8500 Confidential 2 Upper Heater Cabinet The upper heater cabinet is located above the drum. The upper heater cabinet includes: Quartz heating units Electrical fan system-up to machine 177 All quartz units and the electrical fans are serviceable from the rear side of the machine. All heating elements can be accessed by removing the rear panel of the upper heater cabinet. The main goal of pre-heating the media is to achieve better print quality.
Engineer Training Drum Heating TJ8300 / TJ8500 Confidential 3 Upper Heater Cabinet (Cont.) The heating level is controlled by a closed loop and may reach temperatures up to 80ºC. Heating the drum to levels of more than 60ºC enables printing on some uncoated substrates. Temperatures higher then 80ºC cause overheat pop-up messages and an immediate shut down of the power to the heating elements. There are two additional mechanical thermo switches for protection against fire or higher temperatures.
