World Hunger – The Issue DEFINITION Hunger is a term which has three meanings 1. the uneasy or painful feeling caused by want of food 2. the want or scarcity of food in a country 3. a strong desire or craving

A survey showed hunger fact of life for 40% of Filipinos Hunger rate highest in Metro Manila, at least 550,000 families lacked food

World Hunger – The Solution Product: 30 hour famine April 18, 2011 – students from all across Canada will “fast” – (not eat) - for 30 hours “Fast” – absolutely NO food, only juice and water allowed Students gather in their high school gyms Fun and games!! Students collect money for 30 hours of NO EATING!! Adults and friends will sponsor kids to fast Minimum: $5, no maximum

The solution – The promotion Slogan: Fast for the Philippines! Promotion: Ads on Canadian social media (facebook, twitter, msn) Teachers announce it in class and put up posters in Canadian high schools All money goes towards helping children in Philippines
