We can use a noun phrase before a noun to show the quantity. a bowl of… a glass of… a cup of… a plate of… a can of… For example:
The noun ‘rice’ is uncountable. We can use noun phrases with both countable and uncountable nouns. The noun ‘rice’ is uncountable. This is a bowl of rice. This is a plate of rice.
