N EPALESE C OMMUNITY IN THE U NITED S TATES  Started arriving in the USA during the 1960’s, mostly for education  Nearly 200,000 Nepali people are now living in the United States  Most Nepali people living in the USA are highly educated professional and successful businessmen  The population is mostly concentration in Dallas, New York, Washington DC, and California  Nearly 12,000 Nepali people live in the DFW area

G LIMPSES OF N EPALI C ULTURE AND S OCIETY  Our community comprises of Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and other faiths  Rich in value, culture and social harmony  Respect for all cultures and religions equally  Belief in the principles of love and peace

T HE N EPALI A RT AND C ULTURE  Nepali Art is unique, exotic and enchanting and is admired throughout the world  Many temples and monasteries around the world are influenced by Nepali art and artists  Nepal Temples are usually one of three types - pagodas, shikaras or stupas  Stupas are exclusively Buddhist temples  Pagodas and Shikaras may be Hindu or Buddhist NCSC project aims to build a Community Center, a Pashupati Nath Temple, and a Buddhist Monastery. The proposed project will bring world famous Nepali architecture, design, and craftsmanship to the city of Euless.

A BOUT P ROPOSED P ROJECT : Nepali Community and Cultural Center  A place for social gathering where prayers, religious ceremonies and meditations of all faiths are conducted  Our community hall will be a replica of the Cultural Hall of Krishna Mandir (a UNESCO Protected Heritage site)  Will reflect rich Nepali architecture, design, and craftsmanship may be Hindu or Buddhist.

P ASHUPATI N ATH T EMPLE  Shiva (Pashupati Nath) is one of the most influential Gods in the Hindu religion, and extremely popular in India and Nepal with millions of devotees visiting the main temple every year  A replica of the main Pashupati Nath temple of Nepal, world famous for its architecture  The architecture of the temple is of pagoda style, and consists of two levels of roofs that are copper and gold plated. It has four main doors. pagoda  The new temple will be a structure of unique design and beauty  Will be the first temple of this style in the United States

B UDDHIST M ONASTERY  Buddhism is one of the most peaceful religions that focuses on meditation and love  Buddhist monasteries are world famous for their colorfully carved decorations, design, and art  The proposed design is a replica of the world famous Swaybhunath Stupa of Nepal  The stupa consists of a dome at the base with a cubical structure on top that consists of eyes of the Buddha looking in all four directionsstupaBuddha  It is a structure that is unique in design, art, and beauty  Will be the first monastery of this style in the United States

W HY P ROPOSED L AND ?  Strategically located at the center of the growing Nepalese community in DFW  Also centrally located for the Indian and Bhutanese communities, and others interested in Hinduism, Buddhism and Nepali culture  The sloped site is perfect for the beautiful multi-tiered landscaping envisioned, which will display the beautiful architecture of the structures to passers-by  Highly visible from Highway 10 - travelers will be enticed to come and explore the unique beauty of the structures  As the center will be open from 8 am to 7 pm every day, highway travelers and their children can stop by at this beautiful project to enjoy the art, rest, relax, pray, or meditate This project needs a location where all the people (not only the Nepali community) can take benefit. This is only possible in the proposed present location.

E CONOMIC I MPACTS OF THE P ROPOSED P ROJECT  The Temple and Community Center will be the heart of DFW Nepali social activity, attracting many more Nepalese families to Euless  These families mostly include professionals like doctors, engineers and businessmen  Nepali people living throughout America will come to visit the center  All of this will result in the following benefits to the city of Euless: Boost in real estate activity as many homes will be purchased or built New professional businesses will be established, and new manpower will be available for existing businesses New families will frequent existing service businesses Tourists will require hotel accommodations and restaurants Tax revenue for the city will be significantly impacted  Euless can realize similar growth to that created by the Hindu Temple projects in Irving and Richardson, which caused dramatic growth of the Indian community  The NCSC project will have far greater economic impact on Euless than other uses of the land such as retail or warehouse structures

C ULTURAL AND S PIRITUAL I MPACTS  Add more beauty to the city of Euless, already known for its cultural diversity  Bring the replicas of some of the world’s most famous architecture to Euless  Once completed the proposed site will be extremely beautiful and attract tourism  Promote spirituality, good values, and culture - thereby creating a strong multi-cultural society  Teach values to our children and the community so that they become good citizens and develop leadership  This project promotes both Nepali and other cultures, teachings, and religions  Once complete the proposed site will look extremely beautiful and become a tourist draw

O UR P ROMISE  We are honorable citizens of this beautiful country  We are proud residents of the city of Euless, Tarrant County, and nearby areas  We feel it is our duty to make this city more beautiful and prosperous and want to contribute through this endeavor  We follow all the rules and regulations of city of Euless and are extremely happy to work with the city and community  We are committed to bringing in and promoting more business and economic activities to the city of Euless, the future home of our children

O UR E FFORTS  Over the last year, we have been working with the officials of the city of Euless to bring one of the most beautiful projects that can help our city grow culturally, spiritually, and economically  We have spent a considerable amount of time, finance and other resources to create this model project  We will continue to work to bring more business, success, diversity and beauty to the city of Euless 

O UR R EQUEST  The primary aim of this project is to preserve our culture and values, and to pass them on to our children so that they can be a good citizens in the future and contribute towards the prosperity of the city of Euless and the United States of America  We aim to make our city more beautiful and prosperous by promoting and bringing in more and more economic, spiritual, and social activities  Therefore, on behalf of our children and all members of Nepali community, we sincerely request all the members of city council to support us in our efforts to enrich the city of Euless economically, culturally and spiritually.  Your kind understanding and support will make a real difference to our children, community, as well as the city of Euless
