Outline. Why do we have quizzes. Smart Quiz Mechanics. Test-Drive the Smart Quiz.

Why do We Have Quizzes? Encourage you to complete the assigned reading before class. Enable you and the instructor to evaluate your knowledge of the important concepts before they are presented in class. Focus your attention on, as well as refresh your recollection of, the topics to be presented in the class; and Provide an opportunity for you to reflect on what you have learned.

Smart Quiz Mechanics. A typical quiz is composed of a set of multiple choice or true/false questions taken from the reading material. The wording for most questions comes directly from the reading. You must select the best answer to each question on the Quiz. The Quizzes require you to recall material from the assigned reading, define technical terms or conventions, name classes, sets, divisions, and arrangements, list criteria, etc. Smart Quiz Mechanics.

You will answer the quiz questions on the computer screen. Although you are responsible for your answer selection, you will have a chance to confirm that you have selected the answer you think is the best. If your answer is right for a particular question, you will get the full score for that question and you will move to the next question.

Smart Quiz Mechanics. If your answer is wrong, you will have a second chance to answer the same question. In this second chance, the wrong answer you selected will be removed form the list of answer choices. If you got the right answer at that time, you will get a reduced score for that question. However, if you still got it wrong, no other chance is available; you will have to move to the next question.

Smart Quiz Mechanics. When you have completed the quiz you will have your grade calculated immediately and posted to the screen. Please write down this grade for your own personal reference in the quiz checklist. Use it to remind yourself in case you got less than M and need to retake the quiz. Your grade depends on the number of your right answers and the number or second chances you needed.
