Clean Fossil Fuels  Technologies which convert coal, gas & oil to energy with reduced emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Existing Plant  Low NOx burners fitted to all coal fired power stations to reduce any oxide of nitrogen emissions, which are associated with acid rain  All coal used at E.ON sites has a low sulphur content  Biomass co-firing projects currently running at all three coal fired stations in the UK.  Flue Gas Desulphurisation unit fitted at Ratcliffe-on-Soar which removes 90% of sulphur dioxide from the fumes
