 Homework  Studying  Other obligations: ◦ Work ◦ Family ◦ Social opportunities ◦ Clubs, religious activities, sports, etc The key?  Work/life balance and coping techniques

 Allowing your body’s “alarm system” to cool down  Reducing the risk of some serious health problems  Can help improve relationships  Can help you enjoy life!

 Make a schedule for yourself that includes ◦ Work and class schedule ◦ Any weekly obligations (such as sports teams, church attendance, etc) ◦ Sleep! (whew!)

 Then add in other elements that are important to you. ◦ Homework ◦ Visiting a tutor and/or office hours ◦ Gym ◦ Social time (such as time to hang out with friends or visit family, etc)

 Set a timer, and spend 45 minutes on task.  Once the timer goes off, take a break and do ANYTHING you want for 15 minutes. ◦ Take a walk ◦ Check Facebook ◦ Make a sandwich ◦ Whatever feels like a break to you!  Once your 15-minute break is up, re-set the timer for another 45 minutes on task. (You can also do 20/10s, 15/5s– whatever works for you!)

 After you check Facebook in the morning, check Blackboard next. Do this every day for two weeks, and it will become a habit.  Now that you’re checking Blackboard every day, it’s much easier to feel caught up with your classes.

 How can we avoid stressful situations via successful communication?  Presenter: Juan Nunez

 Simple techniques to ease physical stress  Presenter: Megan Ritt  Tips: ◦ Keep breathing! ◦ If anything is uncomfortable for you, stop.
