Domestic Violence in the U.S. Argument:  Safe Horizon stated that at 1 out 4 women in a relationship has experienced some type of domestic violence  Young Women are more most likely to be at risk of Domestic Violence  Health Problem that has been hidden from time  Latino Community (Population): Nation’s Largest ethnic or racial minority  Not enough available resources for the Latino Community  Different challenges in the Latino Community Retrieved from: statistics/domesticwk2.jpg

Causes  Based on the different reasons that was found in the research about Domestic Violence, this is what we have found…  Overall lack of re sources:  Language  Bilingual Staff  Culture  Education  Alcohol Abuse

Possible Solutions  Raising Awareness  Educate the Latino Community  Networking  Increase survivors participation in awareness  Understand the importance of current Domestic Violence programs  Enhance understanding race differences or people of color  Culture competence; religion, traditions, language, etc…
