Main Ideas The swine flu has killed more than 700 people since last December Cases have doubled to more than 11,000 in the past week The virus first appeared in Mexico in 2009 and rapidly spread around the world Government failed to distribute medicine and low winter temperatures are to blame for the outbreak
Our Opinion I feel bad for the people in India. The government has to do a better job of distributing medicines. It’s sad that so many people have died from the flu. Maybe because it’s a poor country and can’t get as much medicine and health education. It’s a scary virus that kills many. India needs to distribute medicines to contain the outbreak. The people of India need to take preventative measures.
Why do we have this opinion? We have this opinion for a couple of reasons. The first is this is the information presented in the article. Second, there were many other articles with the same information. Third, we have learned about India in class and on the news and that has influenced my opinion. We also have this opinion because we think the government should take care of it’s people and provide medicines to stop the flu.
Other Perspective Scientist or other health experts may not think low winter temperatures are to blame. Others may also think it’s the peoples fault for not being cautious with containing the disease.
What might influence someone to think differently Many people who live in India might think differently because they are experiencing it first hand themselves. Thank you for watching. We’ll see you here tomorrow at 11pm. Have a good evening.
