Equipped with a doctorate in psychology (Psy.D) from Azusa Pacific University and BA in psychology from UCLA, she is a mental and emotional health expert, a psychology professor at Hope International University, a former beauty queen (Miss Nigeria in America), the curator of The Pink Couch blog & channel (an online community that promotes mental health, beauty & style), a social justice activist, the co- founder & director of The Ruby Project (a non-profit for abused women), an empowered speaker, writer, and coach, and an emerging media personality. The Pink CouchThe Ruby Project She has leveraged her areas of expertise, insight, and creativity into the following popular presentations (for the full list, see Speaking Topics sheet): Painfully Powerful: Moving from Pain to Power & Purpose How To Be Less Perfect: Beating the Perfectionism Trap Why Can’t I Get Over Him?: An Empowered Guide to Moving On Save Me From Suicide: Suicide Prevention Strategies for Family, Schools, & Churches Help Me To Forgive: A Psychologically-Oriented Guide to Forgiveness Mind Defense: Mental Strategies for Better athletic performance Peace has presented at numerous faith-based and professional conferences across the nation, including a presentation of her doctoral research (The Relationship Between Religion and Sexual Behavior Among African-American, Female Adolescents) at the American Psychological Association in Orlando, Florida. To honor her philanthropic and social justice values, Peace co-founded and directs a non-profit organization – The Ruby Project – which supports and advocates for young women with stories of extreme abuse and trauma. In 2013, a unique experience occurred when Peace and two other Ruby Project team members competed on a national television game show – The American Bible Challenge, Season 2 – and with their bible trivia knowledge, won $25,000 for The Ruby Project. The Ruby Project Additionally, Peace addresses diversity issues in higher education by spearheading a campus-based advocacy group for black students and student-athletes. It was her work with these students and psychology students that was a key component of the university’s decision to select her as the 2013 faculty recipient of the Servant Leadership Award. Prior to her work at HIU, Peace won the title as Miss Nigeria in America 2007 (a beauty pageant) and focused on diabetes awareness in the Nigerian community. She pioneered diabetes awareness campaigns for school-aged children and teens in the Los Angeles School district. Peace remains an active member of the community with involvements in such charities as PATH Homeless Shelter, LA Food bank, Red Cross, and Children’s Hospital. For bookings,
