Tsunami Facts: Tsunamis are huge water that are usually caused by earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. Tsunamis are sometimes referred to as tidal waves but this term has fallen out of favor because tsunamis are not related to tides.

Causes of a Tsunami One fact is that a tsunami is made from a earthquake. Another fact is that it could be from a volcanic eruption. A third cause is meteorite impact hitting the ground.
