Lesson Example for Socrative  Organization of thoughts Have students review a sample body paragraph that has been reordered They are asked to put the sentences in the order that best conveys the idea and flow desired in the paragraph Each sentence has a letter assigned to it, students are asked to choose the letter of the first sentence. The results will be displayed on the socrative site and will provide the instructor the number of correct response. The process will be repeated for the remainder of the paragraph

Lesson Idea for Solo  Students have a tendency to leave out words or use the wrong spelling of a word in their writing.  Using Write OutLoud as an editing tool will help remove this issue.  Have students copy and paste their essays/paragraphs from their word processor into Write OutLoud  Students will use the speak function to have the words and sentences read out loud to them. They will be able to hear their mistakes and then they can correct them  In addition to hearing the mistakes, Solo takes into account homophones and has a tool that will search a document for homophones and provides definitions for each of the homophones so that the students can select the correct one

Lesson Idea  Have students create a Google account  They will then use Google Docs to create a work cited page.  They will utilize the research tool and search out their internet based informational sites  They will use the cite option under the research tool to have Google Docs create the proper MLA citation for each one

Lesson Idea  Have students who are in the edit and revision portion of the writing process upload their essay to Paperrater.com after they have self reviewed and peer reviewed  They will use its free functions to assess their style, word choice, and grammar issues  This will give them additional correction to make to their essays that may have been missed in the other processes.
