 Analyzing the changing situation of foreign labour markets in time  Adopting the plan for training the surplus workforce of local labour market to acquire the required skills and competencies aiming to place them at overseas employment according to overseas LMI  Providing services for overseas employment in fast and easy way  Appointing Labour Attaches’ in the countries where most Myanmar workers are working and ensuring them for making efforts to extend overseas labour market  Signing MoUs and Bi-lateral agreements with labour receiving countries  Ensuring the protection of the workers abroad Promotion of Overseas Employment Opportunities

 Forming National Skill Standard Authority (NSSA) of Myanmar in 2007 comprising the related ministries / organizations and experts  Drawing up the occupational competency standards for 152 priority occupations under the guidance of the NSSA  Forming 14 Occupational Competency Standards Committees to study regionally and globally recognized skill standards  Taking measures to implement the drawing and setting up the occupational competency standards, providing skill trainings, testing skills of workers and issuing skill recognition certificates under the National Qualification Framework  Testing and issuing skill recognition certificates for welding occupation to be implemented soon by a body led by the Ministry of Industry-2 Establishing the national skill standards of Myanmar and nurturing skilled workers

 At the regional level, Myanmar has coordinated with Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam for common competency standards of five occupations for four different levels  welder  concreter  air-conditioner  poultry farm worker  tour guide Establishing the national skill standards of Myanmar and nurturing skilled workers

 Utilizing the human resource efficiently  Ensuring harmonious development among the Economic Plan, Education Plan and Manpower Plan  Adopting the comprehensive policies and programmes on creation of more employment opportunities by taking efforts for the development of agricultural sector  Investing on agricultural crops, industrial crops and agricultural value-added products and enabling the rural population to enjoy such employment opportunities Suggestions

 Creating job opportunities for the workforce in urban and the workforce migrating from rural to urban areas  Taking measures to train workers so that they can work in foreign countries as skilled ones  Conducting a labour force survey to collect labour statistics and adopting a suitable timeframe for conducting the survey on a regular basis Suggestions
