Snack & Water Bottles Water bottles need sport top & to be filled before class begins –Put name and homeroom on water bottle Snacks – healthy (grapes, raisins, etc.) & not messy Students may not share food or bring food from home for others

AGENDAS Should be checked daily by parent to see what student learned in class. Agendas are required in 5 th grade and can be purchased from homeroom teacher. Please pay in cash. Applicable homework assignment written in for each subject

TUESDAY FOLDER Conduct Cards reviewed by parent TUESDAY NIGHT (checked by teacher Wednesday morning)‏ Graded Papers will be returned on Tuesdays and placed in Tuesday Folder by the student. Graded papers need to be removed and kept at home. Papers with grades below 70% need to be signed and returned. Corrections MUST be done at school to raise grade to 70%.

Reading Homework  Improving reading skills is like improving athletic skills – practice is needed Students are responsible for 100 minutes of reading every week Getting parent signature to verify minutes read Bringing signed reading calendar to school every Monday

Spelling Words based on needed skills Often more than 1 set of words (based on student needs)‏ Small group practice Test every Wednesday unless otherwise noted New words given every Wednesday.

Get to 50 Spelling Homework Choice Menu 10 POINTS –Write a synonym or antonym for each spelling word –Make a set of flash cards to help you study your spelling words (attached envelope or baggie to hold your flashcards)‏ –Have a family member give you a practice spelling test (REQUIRES PARENT SIGNATURE)‏ –Write your words using one color for vowels (a, e, i, o, u) and another color for the consonants
