For education and learning Current situation ICT at School’s Everyday Life The project is carried out by Ministry of Transport and Communications (co-ordination), Ministry of Education and National Board of Education and in co-operation with industry and commerce. (public-private-partnership) 1) Pedagogical practices of ICT for teaching and learning 2) Media culture in formal and informal learning environments 3) ICT mediated interaction, team work and competencies 4) ICT tools, infrastructure and usability

For education and learning Information and Communication Technology at School’s Everyday Life - A research and development project The project produces evidence-based and sustainable solutions for the application of ICT at school’s everyday life. The core goal is to develop pedagogically and technologically sound models, practices and materials that can be flexibly and smoothly integrated into the life of every school in Finland. The project is realized via a broad collaborative research network :12 pilot schools; 12 university based research groups; Technical Research Center in Finland (VTT), 28 private enterprises; Finnish municipalities; and international partners. The project has been organized into four thematic research packages: 1) Pedagogical models and technological innovations, 2) ICT in and across disciplinary subjects, 3) mobile learning and the production of learning materials, 4) Public-private partnership models, infrastructure and accountability

New national strategy for ICT in education 2010 for all levels informal learning included Main issues: - in-service training for teachers - 1:1 computing for all (a goal ) - e-learning materials (more games and simulations) - research OPTEK-research-project- results local communities, 20 schools - 12 universities, 20 companies

For education and learning What’s now? The evaluation criteria wil be updated in 2011 Learning materials: - co-operation with publishers - FNBE´s role as a learning material producer (material for a small targit groups) - no inspection of learning materials

For education and learning Future visions (FNBE) By 2011 Finnish schools will have innovative and creative ICT models and practices for wide dissemination locally and globally. Finland will be one of the European leaders in the utilization and development of information and communication technologies for educational purposes.
