UPDATING YOUR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN Looking back Looking forward

Use Summative Data to…. 1.Connect to the data presentation at the beginning of the year to the SIP process 2.Encourage your team to look back at lessons learned - what needs to be improved? 3.Look forward into planning ahead - what worked? 4.Assess the attainment of SIP goals- were goals met, why or why not? 5.Revise your Comprehensive Needs Assessment - update all sections of the CNA 6.Use the CNA revision process to revise and/or update your plan, including the professional development plan and intervention matrix

Comprehensive Needs Assessment  What is the current process for facilitating the CNA at your school?  How does your CNA help ensure your SIP is a fluid responsive plan?  Share a best practice at your table that you currently use to facilitate a meaningful and purposeful CNA process be at your school.

Chalk Talk Read the question on the chart paper and brainstorm answers. Record your thoughts and ideas on the chart paper. Move to another table and respond with one or more of the following: agree enthusiastically agree not sure what you mean disagree and why

Chalk Talk Move to another piece of chart paper and complete the same process. Repeat the process until all groups have visited each chart paper. Return to your original chart paper and read the responses. Discuss findings with table. Summarize the ideas to share with the whole group.
