Mrs. Hanzel wants:  A skyscraper for the eVolo skyscraper contest  Skyscraper footprints to be made of basic geometric shapes  To see if we can create a winning skyscraper design

What we plan to do to solve the problem for eVolo:  Make a footprint for a skyscraper and make a 3D model.

 We need to know the area of a building so that we know how much the building costs when we base it off of how much the Burj Khalifa cost to build per square meter, which was $5,000.  Section 1 (footprint 1) app. area: 150,000 m 2  Section 2 (footprint 2) app. area: 170,000 m 2  Section 3 (footprint 3) app. area: 30,300 m 2  Cost of section 1: $750,000,000  Cost of section 2: $850,000,000  Cost of section 3: $151,500,000  Total cost of the building: $1,751,500,000

 Interior designers need the surface area or a building to know how much carpet or other things like furniture to put in it.  App. Surface Area of Section 1: 112, m 2  App. Surface Area of Section 2: 125,000,000 m 2  App. Surface Area of Section 3: 105,900 m 2  Total Surface Area of the Building: 125,218, m 2

 Mechanical engineers need volume of a building to see how much space they need to heat or cool.  App. Volume of Section 1: 764, m 3  App. Volume of Section 2: 840,000 m 3  App. Volume of Section 3: 151,500 m 3  Total Volume of the Building: 1,755, m 3
