What is Classical music/period? The Classical Period started about 1750 to 1810 approximately. Composers around this time were Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Classical music is also a term to describe a style of music written around this time. Composers were interested in using forms and structures around this time. Rondo form, concerto, theme and variations Orchestras were larger than in the Baroque Period. The Clarinet was invented in the Classical Period. The Piano replaced the harpsichord as the popular keyboard instrument.
