Religion 9 Be with Me! Unit 1

A Christian perspective of being with others God has given each one of us the freedom and responsibility to shape our own relationships. We are not told exactly how those relationships should be shaped. We all have different personalities and we all need different things from our relationships. The important thing is we are called to take the attitude of Christ who “humbled himself” to be the kind of friend others needed. Taking in his example he never expected people to act a certain way, but instead served his friends with dedication and love.

Learning from our mistakes We are people who live and make mistakes. Whether we met to cause pain or not each of us has had a time when we have said things, or taken actions we are not proud of. We learn from out mistakes and try to make amends in the relationships we may have.

Beatitudes!!!

What is a beatitude The word “beatitude” means “blessing” or promise of true happiness. In biblical times beatitudes were often given as directions for life. Most of the beatitudes of The Old Testaments were statements of popular wisdom or common sense. Example: “Find wisdom and you will find happiness” The ones given by Jesus are different. They direct us along paths where we would not normally expect to find happiness. They direct us to find happiness in our earthly life and in our eternal life with God.
