7 February 2014

 Creation ◦ The first man and woman saw everything as God did  “good.”  3 things NOT present in the Garden of Eden that are present in today’s world:  Sin  Sickness  Death

 The Fall of the First Humans ◦ Original sin  loss of original holiness  Every human being is drawn toward what is wrong and sinful  Sin (different than original sin) ◦ A choice people freely make to turn away from God through what they say, do, or desire  Still exists in our world today

 What was happening to the Israelites? ◦ Slavery in Egypt  How does God set them free?  Slavery (or lack of complete freedom) exists in our world today.

 Objective: demonstrate that the foundations of injustice found in the Bible are still relevant today  Procedure: Imagine you are casting and directing a film based on these two stories. Choose celebrities from today’s media based on their personalities to fill each role. Also, select the setting for your film and explain the changes as you alter the stories for a modern audience. The basic plot points should remain the same.

 Genesis Creation Story  God  Adam  Eve  Serpent  Cain (optional)  Abel (optional)  Exodus Liberation Story  God  Pharaoh  Moses  Miriam  Aaron  Egyptian slaves  Pharaoh’s son (optional)
