Netiquette Etiquette of Cyberspace.

Core Rules Rule 1: Remember the human Rule 2: Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life Rule 3: Know where you are in cyberspace Rule 4: Make yourself look good online Rule 5: Help keep flame wars under control Rule 6: Don't abuse your power

Etiquette Always use a subject line. Should you decide something you received is so priceless that you must forward it, DON'T include your entire address list in the TO: field. Keep your writing brief. Do not forward on private messages. Don’t assume everyone understands abbreviations. Be careful with sarcasm and subtle humor. Remember it is not private. DON'T TYPE IN ALL UPPER CASE, it's considered SHOUTING.

info When you talk with someone, your tone of voice conveys great meaning. To add personality humor to your messages, use smileys, also known as emoticons, expressions you create from the characters on your keyboard. A few popular ones include: :-)Happy:-e Disappointed:-( Sad:-< Mad:-o Surprised:-D Screaming;-) Winking:-I Indifferent

Helpful Hints Do Not forward chain letters. No matter how many times you forward some E- Mail, you will NOT see a video, or get any reward. NO ONE IN NIGERIA Will Deposit ANY Money Into Your Account! You have NOT been 'Specially Selected!'

More Hints No dying child wants your business cards, get well cards and the like. This child died many years ago, and the hospitals, clinics are tired of the mail. Bill Gates, Walt Disney, Sony, Sega, Microsoft and the like WILL NOT PAY YOU, give you a camcorder, Disneyland tickets, Palm Pilots or whatever for forwarding some silly bogus message.
