By the end of this meeting, we will have... a list of viable ways to serve non title schools/districts with EXTREMELY LIMITED FUNDING so that we can continue to provide valuable services for our non title schools/districts. RESPRO Area 1C

By the end of this meeting, we will have... developed an understanding of how to use the RESPRO so that we can increase knowledge and collaboration among the Area 1C coaches. RESPRO Area 1C

Write a Classified Ad for Ground Rules You must include: Attention Interest Desire Action

Man Bites Dog! With your group, you will have 3 minutes to arrange your cards into a headline that makes sense—kind of! Have a table discussion around this question: How does your headline apply to your RESPRO work? 8

Unfinished Business ??????????? RESPRO Area 1C

News from ISBE: SIP Plans Continue to guide districts/schools to work on required plans but not paste them into the 2008 templates. They must wait to use the 2009 templates. RESPRO Area 1C

News from ISBE: SIP Plans When will the 2009 template be available on the e-Plan? PROBABLY after the data are finalized! –per Carol RESPRO Area 1C

News from ISBE: SIP Plans The 2009 template due dates—CURRENT THINKING from ISBE A “drop dead” deadline has NOT been established Work as though the initial IWAS notification started the clock ticking— varies from school to school, district to district This is per fed requirements. RESPRO Area 1C

News from ISBE: 2009 REVIEW PROCESS ISBE is working on a plan to move to greater consistency in the compliance check of the plans. The 2009 Resource Manual includes monitoring prompts that note the compliance items. Marked by [C]. RESPRO Area 1C

News from ISBE: 2009 REVIEW PROCESS Readers should work toward consistency on those items and mark only those compliance items. Reader comments would be only on those compliance items and applicable positive comments. Remaining “quality” items would be for in-area RESPRO only. Area RESPROS would provide the quality comments. RESPRO Area 1C

News from ISBE: WHO has to write plans? Reading lists by area need to be done as soon as possible. Each ROE must identify WHO needs to submit a SIP, a DIP, and/or a Restructuring Plan! RESPRO Area 1C

News from ISBE: WHO has to write plans? The logs are for your REVIEW as of July 17. The SIP log shows who submitted an e-plan and which plans were reviewed by ISBE. The 2006 and 2007 plans have now expired. If a school in status is not on the log, they must submit a plan. Schools new to status for 2009 also must submit a plan. RESPRO Area 1C

News from ISBE: WHO has to write plans? The DIP log includes all submitted DIPS ISBE reviewed only those necessary for academic status. This means that some of your districts may wish to save their plan as a Word. Document so they can use 2008 RtI info for their plans. The restructuring log includes those that moved paper plans to e-plans in RESPRO Area 1C

Essential Facilitation Practice: PDA

RESPRO Area 1C Outcome At the end of this session, we will have a list of viable ways to serve non title schools/districts with EXTREMELY limited funding so that we can continue to provide valuable services for our non/title schools/districts.

COLLECT V – I – A –B – L – E Form new groups COLLECT as many ideas as possible for serving non title schools with limited funding—make sure they are recorded!

COLLECT Let’s Share! 2 recorders

SORT: Discuss at table which ideas meet these criteria require minimal resources—people and money (don’t forget coach salaries = money) provide high quality services relative to the needs of the schools/districts build capacity in schools/districts

SELECT Dot ideas which meet all 3 criteria

NEXT STEPS Move to your ROE group Discuss the options Begin to make plans fore next steps for your team

Comes to Area 1C!

Welcome to Our WIKI! Our WIKI helps us: Collaborate Share ideas Post common documents, files and resources

Tour the WIKI! Let’s take a Basic Tour of the WIKI!

WIKI Scavenger Hunt! Hands Up-Pair Up Trio Directions: Raise your hand! Find 2 other raised hands to Form a trio.

WIKI Scavenger Hunt! Work with your team to complete the Scavenger Hunt!

That wasn’t so hard…

Build Our WIKI! Choose an area from the hot topics we developed last month. Sit at that table. If the table you want is full, please choose another.

Build Our WIKI! Work with your team to collect, research, or locate resources, information, documents, files, links, etc… that you could add to that WIKI page. Designate one person to be the “wiki copy editor.” Create a new page or add to an existing one.

Next Steps: Keep adding to the WIKI in ALL areas. Check back weekly to see what has been added to the WIKI!
