What is a copyright? A copyright is a form of protection given to authors or creators of original works.

What does a copyright protect?

When is your work protected? Your work is protected by a copyright as soon as it is created and fixed in a tangible form.

What rights are granted with a copyright? Basically, a copyright entitles you as the author of the work to do the following or let others do the following: – Make copies of your work – Distribute copies of your work – Perform your work publicly – Display your work publicly – Make derivative works
