  In 1492 Christopher Columbus started exploring. He traveled to find India by boat. But when he was on his way instead of landing in India he landed in America. That was when he fist discover America. He also was the first one to make a map of America. That is way Columbus is one of the most important explorers. Columbus

 In 1685,a French explorer came to taxes Several years before, he had travel down the Mississippi river. He clamed the land surrounding the river. He named it Luis V. In honor of the French king, when he got back to France he convinced the king to give him boats to take the village to Louisiana. The royal king tolled him yes. La Salle could binging a colony there. La Salle

  In 1528 Narvaez had to send Spanish settlements to Florida to Texas Rio Grande. He started going with 300 men when he was living with them after suffering Indian attack Narvaez dissuaded to build 5 barges and then he left to Florida. Not by land but by sea. They made barges with pine trees and pitch from longleaf pine mixed with palmetto fiber to fill in in the cracks. Then all of the men sewed their shirts together to make sails. On their way the man in that group that where on the boat had a storm coming. In that group was Caveza de Vaca too and only some of the men that where there survived. But Narvaez did not survived.
