Affordable Care Act (ACA) Implementation Starting January 2015, employers will have to offer health insurance to employees working more than 30 hours per week The University System of Georgia is considered the employer System-wide reporting will be required

Affordable Care Act (ACA) Implementation Rules for temporary employees have changed – No longer 6 months plus a 6 month extension – Now, 1,300 hours per a 12 month period – Hours can be in any combination, but can not exceed 1,300 – New clock started on May 1, 2014

Affordable Care Act (ACA) Implementation Transition Period from May 1, 2014 to October 31, 2014 – May 1 vs May 2 – Transition Period employees are limited to 744 hours between May 1 and October 31 – If they exceed that number, they will become benefits eligible in 2015
