- The EU adopted a directive to prevent and combat human trafficking and protect victims in April Cecilia Malmstrom, Commissioner for Home Affairs, called the passage of the directive “a very important step towards a comprehensive and more effective European anti- trafficking policy.” In Europe…

- Over the last ten years, human trafficking is gaining increasing global attention; many governments around the world are developing policies and laws to combat it, and hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent worldwide. The logical next step would be to examine these efforts to combat trafficking to assess how anti- trafficking measures are being implemented (including the way money is being spent) and what consequences they are causing. In addition…

- No legitimate laws exist about human trafficking, and other countries refuse to stop their human trafficking. Many countries turn a blind eye on traffickers so that they can keep their financial agreements with other countries. There are some organizations being formed to help, but at this point they can't do much because trafficked victims are too afraid to testify. What’s the result?

- United States has been active worldwide in promoting the eradication of trafficking everywhere. As an example of this, the United States has put programs in place in foreign countries to assist in minimizing the trafficking industry, and has also set up a tier system to classify countries and governments based on the action each country takes against trafficking. A large problem with the U.S.A.’s involvement, however, has been that of prioritizing stopping the sex industry over stopping any other kind of trafficking." What is the U.S doing?

- All in all lots of countries are trying to work together to end human trafficking, but it doesn’t seem to be working out too well. Just because it’s not working right now, doesn’t mean that it will never be accomplished, so they will continue to push on. All in all…
