Liquid Crystal Display By Jasdeep Nagi

Connections  A computer monitor displays pictures and information. This reflects what is in the computer.

History

C.R.T  Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) was invented by a German glassblower/mechanic named Ferdinand Braun in 1897  Which is a glass vacuum tube that travels through a electron gun that emits a flow of electrons. This is guided by a electrical field towards a screen covered in small phosphorescent elements.

L.C.D  Liquid Crystals Display (LCD) was first discovered in 1888 by cholesterol extracted from carrots.  discovered by a Austrian botanist and chemist named Friedrich Reinitzer.  L.C.D monitors that are liquid chemicals molecules which are aligned precisely when subjected to electrical fields. When properly aligned, this allows the liquid crystals to pass through.

L.E.D  Light-Emitting Diode (LED) was discovered in 1907 by the British experimenter named H.J. Rounds of Marconi Labs.  used be a crystal of a silicon carbide.  LEDs are tiny light bulbs that are a easy fit in the electrical circuit. LEDs shine light from behind the screen and illuminate the pixels to create an image

Leading Products... Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)Liquid Crystals Display (LCD) Light-Emitting Diode (LED) - High radiation- manufactured almost any size and shape - Energy efficient - High energy consumption - Dead or stuck pixels may occur - Better color quality, clarity - Heavy, especially for larger units - Emits very little electromagnetic radiation - Thinner construction - Bulky depth- Light, less wider than CRT - Low energy consumption
