 You will understand the definition of what a demographic transition is  You will understand the differences between the various stages of the Demographic Transition Model  You will have learned examples of different countries which relate to the different stages of the DTM

 Population change has been continuous and continues to be uneven throughout the world. However trends (patterns) have been identified between countries at different stages of development.  A demographic transition refers to the change of an areas population between different stages of development (also page 183)  Geographers have drawn up a SIMPLIFIED model to show how these changes take place – The Demographic Transition Model

 Do you understand the definition of what a demographic transition is?  Do you understand the differences between the various stages of the Demographic Transition Model?  Have you learned examples of different countries which relate to the different stages of the DTM?
