Create, Maintain, and Analyze Land and Property Information Bentley Cadastre

Presentation Overview What is Parcel Management? What is Bentley Cadastre Where is Bentley Cadastre Used? Features What’s New in Bentley Cadastre? Benefits Value Proposition

What is Parcel Management? Parcel Management is the process of capturing, editing, updating and publishing parcel information −Value −Ownership −Land Use and Zoning −Address −Legal Descriptions A Parcel Management system must be able to: −accurately develop a graphical cadastral fabric −easily develop textual attributes that are associated with the graphics −deal with multiple formats of input information −communicate with interdepartmental agencies through various formats −distribute reports from public queries generated over internet

Traditional GIS Looks at generalizations −Relative location −Proximity −Shape −Size −etc. Often relies on interpretive techniques (digitizing, warping) that reduce quality and accuracy; increase inconsistency Generally not capable of accurately depicting geometry, including 3D, complex and compound shapes, and real-life representations

GIS for Infrastructure Engineering platforms instill engineering discipline, rely upon measurement techniques – how big, how high, how far, how deep? Highly accurate Engineering platform better suited and widely used for data capture, editing and maintenance −Cadastral applications −General land base creation and editing A Geometric Discipline; A Geodetic Application −Creating an accurate spatial record of a part of the earth’s surface −Maps move from symbolic representation to geodetic geometry – a precise, measured spatial record

What is Bentley Cadastre? A comprehensive and efficient parcel management system for: −Developing Cadastral fabrics −Intuitively maintain topological relationships −Streamlining land and property work Provides workflow and business logic for parcel management Designed for use in all parts of the world Incorporates all of Bentley Map Relies on the power of MicroStation Full customizable

Where is Bentley Cadastre Used? Organizations: −Local Government −State Government −Mapping Agencies −National Cadastres −Pipeline Operators −Transportation Agencies −Utilities Users: −GIS professionals −Mapping technicians −Surveyors −Engineers
