Dr. Roberts is currently on staff at Stanford University Medical Center; this is a large teaching hospital and Level I Trauma center were he performs hospital dentistry and surgery. After completing his residency at Navy Hospital Oakland in 1989 while on active military duty, he studied at the Army Wound Ballistic Research Laboratory at the Letterman Army Institute of Research and became one of the first members of the International Wound Ballistic Association. Since then, he has been tasked with performing military, law enforcement, and privately funded independent wound ballistic testing and analysis. He remains a Navy Reserve officer and has recently served on the Joint Service Wound Ballistic IPT, as well as being a consultant to the Joint FBI-USMC munitions testing program and the TSWG MURG program. He is frequently asked to provide wound ballistic technical assistance to numerous U.S. and allied SOF units and organizations. In addition, he is a technical advisor to the Association of Firearms and Toolmark Examiners, as well as to a variety of Federal, State, and municipal law enforcement agencies. He has been a sworn Reserve Police Officer in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he now he serves in an LE training role. DR. GARY ROBERTS

Lelantos Group Proprietary 2015 First test the armor was conditioned for 12 hours at 170 degrees F to see if any separation between layer would occur, then moved to ambient air for approximately 90 minutes prior to being shot. This plate has defeated the following rounds shot at 10 feet with one 90 degrees perpendicular shot, two shots from 60 degrees obliquity and two shots from 30 degrees obliquity with a total of 5 rounds shot per type and a grand total of 20 rounds shot.  5.56 mm 40 gr. LeMas Urban Warfare with 3718 f/s average velocity  5.56 mm M gr. (green tip) FMJ with steel penetrator core with 3054 f/s average velocity  7.62x39 mm M gr. Steel Core FMJ with 2307 f/s average velocity  mm M2 150 gr. FMJ with 2736 f/s average velocity  Second independent test a single TAC3S plate was shot with all of the following rounds, at a distance of 5 feet and at 90 degree perpendicular shots:  5 rounds of 3” magnum 1 oz. solid copper HP sabot slug with 1800 f/s average velocity  20 rounds of 5.7mm SS gr. AP FMJ with a 2800 f/s average velocity  25 rounds of 9 mm Luger 124 gr. Hydra Shok JHP with 1125 f/s average velocity  50 rounds of 9 mm Luger 124 gr. Golden Saber BJHP with 1125 f/s average velocity  50 rounds of 9 mm Luger 147 gr. Golden Saber BJHP with 990 f/s average velocity  50 rounds of 9 mm Luger 147 gr. JHP with 990 f/s average velocity  25 rounds of.45 ACP 165 gr. Hydra Shok JHP with 1060 f/s average velocity  50 rounds of.45 ACP 185 gr. JHP with 1225 f/s average velocity  50 rounds of.45 ACP 230 gr. FMJ with 900 f/s average velocity  25 rounds of.45 ACP +P 230 gr. XTP velocity with 950 f/s average velocity  120 rounds of 5.56 mm M gr. FMJ with 3200 f/s average velocity  60 rounds of 5.56 mm SS gr. (green tip) FMJ with steel penetrator core with 3100 f/s average velocity  20 rounds of 5.56 mm 75 gr. Match BTH with 2790 f/s average velocity This single TAC3S plate amazingly defeated a grand total of 550 assorted rounds without any over penetration. In yet another independent test an TAC3S was shot at 100 yards with: 2 rounds of.338 Lapua Mag 250 gr. solid copper Ruag Swiss P Tactical loads with 2665 f/s average velocity spaced approximately 2.5 inches apart. Lelantos Group Proprietary 2015 SAPI-3 compressed polyethylene (Dyneema) LE plate test for SJPD MERGE The 10 x 12 SAPI-3 plate weighed 3.0 lbs (compared with the 7.5 lbs weight of the same size TAC3S plate). The SAPI-3 was constructed to provide protection from level III threats. In testing, the plate was placed over a Level IIIa soft armor panel and secured against a life-size curvilinear torso replica made of Perma-Gel. In this test, all shots were made at a perpendicular angle to the plate, with no oblique hits. All test shots were made from a range of 3 meters. An average velocity of the ammunition from each box of the different cartridge types was previously calculated using an Oehler Model 35 chronograph and three Skyscreen II photoelectric screens placed at 2 foot intervals beginning 3 feet from the muzzle. Test results from the 14 shots fired: .308 Win: 5 shots of Federal 150 gr FMJ fired at an average velocity of 2754 fps were successfully stopped by the plate.  5.56 mm: 5 shots of Federal 55 gr XM193 FMJ fired at an average velocity of 2998 fps were successfully stopped by the plate.  5.56 mm: 3 shots of LeMas 40 gr “Urban Warfare” fired at an average velocity of 3721 fps were successfully stopped by the plate.  5.56 mm: 1 shot of Winchester 62 gr M855 FMJ fired at an are velocity of 2959 fps fully perforated the plate. All shot results were consistent with manufacturer claims and previous tests of compressed polyethylene level III armor plates. It is recommended that level IIIa soft armor be worn under this plate. It is critical to be aware that this armor does NOT provide protection against 5.56 mm M gr FMJ “green- tip” ammunition INDEPENDENT TEST ON THE SAPI3 By Dr. Roberts

Lelantos Group Proprietary 2015 INDEPENDENT TEST ON THE TACST By Dr. Roberts TACST Level 3 type 6 mm AR500 steel plate test:  5 of 5 shots of Federal 55 gr XM193 FMJ fired at an average velocity of 2992 fps from a 16" barrel penetrated the plate and underlying soft armor.  3 of 5 shots of Winchester 55 gr FMJ (USA223R1) fired at an ave velocity of 2904 fps from a 16“ barrel penetrated the plate and underlying soft armor; 2 shots were stopped by the plate.  5 of 5 shots of Federal Tactical LE223T1 using the 55 gr TBBC JSP fired at an ave velocity of 2945 fps from a 20" barrel penetrated the plate and underlying soft armor.  5 of 5 shots of Corbon DPX using the Barnes 53 gr all copper JHP fired at an average velocity of 3004 fps from a 20" barrel penetrated the plate and underlying soft armor.  5 of 5 shots of Corbon DPX using the Barnes 53 gr all copper JHP fired at an average velocity of 2930 fps from a 16" barrel were stopped by the plate.  3 shots of Winchester 62 gr M855 FMJ fired at an average velocity of 3054 fps from a 20" barrel were all stopped by the plate.  1 shot of a BH loaded Barnes 70 gr all copper X-bullet fired at a velocity of 2851 fps from a 20“ barrel was stopped by the plate.  1 shot of a BH loaded Barnes 70 gr all copper X-bullet fired at a velocity of 2758 fps from a 16“ barrel was stopped by the plate.  1 shot of a.308 Remington loaded Swift Scirocco 150 gr bonded PT fired at a velocity of 2645 fps from an 18" barrel was stopped by the plate.

What is the shelf life for current ceramic??  Will not Splinter when shot  Ceramic cracks and slinters within 2 rounds Polymer ballistic absorbs the rounds  Ceramic plate fragments presents serious injury potential the wearer. Ballistics Polymer cannot fragment  Can absorb a edge shot from the side without breaking or splintering Ceramic plates are only guaranteed 1” in from the edge.  Will absorb many more hits then Ceramic  TAC3s- 555 rounds fired without penetration  TAC3S has stopped more then 100 of the M855/SS 109 round at 10 Feet.  SAPI- 14 hits from 5.56,.308 and multitude handguns and shotgun  Plate has proven in many tests to hold the 1/8" from the edge from a.308 or 7.62 x 37mm (AK47). So when you are wearing a 10" x 12" AMI plate, you have that much ballistic protection. When you wear other plates, a 10" x 12" plate is really only offering you 8" x 10 of actual protection which is a significant loss of surface area that is protected ****MOST OTHER ARMOR PLATES will NOT stop a rifle round 1" from the entire edge our Armor is rated for the complete plate***

Lelantos Group Proprietary 2015 The bag is similar in size and carrying capacity to the classic Eagle AC-1 Attached Case issued to Federal LE agents, but the bag has internal MOLLE attachments as well as options for Level IIIa, III, or IV armor, depending on end-user needs. The bag fits laptop computer up to 17 inches in size. The bag is approximately 12”X18”X5”. It has an external bellows flap pocket w/Velcro on the front hiding a full width pistol pocket with a Velcro pistol holster, along with a flush fit full width zip pocket on the backside of the bag. Internally, the bag has 5 rows and 8 columns of PALS webbing for the attachment of MOLLE pouches on one side and on the other side, a half- height, full width zip pocket, padded computer pockets, and hidden slot for armor, The bag is easy to carry, whether walking, riding bicycles, or in vehicles—it easily fits under airline seats. We shot the bag from a range of 10 feet, with a 15” computer in the bag. As expected from previous testing of compressed polyethylene armor. All of the following shots were stopped by the armor and contained within the bag:  5 rounds of 5.56 mm 55gr XM193 FMJ fired from 1 16” barrel  5 rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm 123 gr M43 Steel Core FMJ from a 16” barrel  5 rounds of gr Swift Scirroco bonded PT fired from an 18” barrel  5 rounds of gr SMK OTM fired from an 18” barrel  5 rounds of 12 ga Win reduced recoil slugs from an 18” barrel *When completed with the above, we decided to stress the armor a bit more to see if we could reach a failure point. An additional 20 rounds of 5.56 mm XM193 were fired into the bag without any perforation of the armor. INDEPENDENT TEST COMPUTER BAG By Dr. Roberts
