Ohlone College Policy on Academic Dishonesty “Academic dishonesty defrauds all those who depend upon the integrity of the College, its courses and its degrees and certificates.”

“Faculty should make every reasonable effort to foster honest academic conduct.” Exams should be appropriately proctored or monitored. Exams and answers to exams should be secured. It is the faculty member’s responsibility to take appropriate action if there is evidence of academic dishonesty.

“Students at Ohlone College have the right to know what constitutes academic dishonesty in each course in which they are enrolled.” Inform students of the ethical standards required in your courses and the appropriate procedures for class work and exams. If feasible, this information should be presented in the course outline (green sheet) and/or on examination questionnaires…or at least reference the policy…. Inform students of the consequences of violation of these standards, student rights of appeal and procedures.
