China 2008 June 27 Chengde Buddhist Temples and Travel to Beijing

Today we traveled to two Buddhist temples. The first one was a huge replica of the one in Tibet, but with just a few less steps to the top…only about 300.

You may notice an interesting mix of architectures, both Chinese and Tibetan

The second temple we visited in Chengde is being used by Buddhist monks today. It is called Pu Ning or the Big Buddha Temple

On the road back to Beijing (another stop at the pit stop) we can see part of the Great Wall in the distance
