GOD’S PURPOSE AND DESTINY FOR US

BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT AND LIVE OUT THE PLAN OF GOD FOR YOUR LIFE.

Ephesians 5:15-21

The first lesson is that one remedy against sin is regular times of reflection on our lives.

The second lesson is that we must be aware of our short span of time here on earth and let that motivate us to use our time wisely.

The third lesson is the wisdom of being controlled by the Holy Spirit so that we may understand and fulfill the will of God for our lives.

Being filled with the Spirit means that we personally submit the control of our life to Him, and when He takes charge of our lives

we are filled with His wisdom and power to understand and accomplish the plan that God designed for our life.

Other verses in the Bible gives us several great results of being filled with the Spirit of God:

1. Jesus promised the Helper-Comforter to be beside you to complete God’s purposes by his power in you.

2. Jesus commanded His disciples to receive the promised Spirit so that He might reproduce His life in them!

3. The fullness of the Holy Spirit expels the spirit of the world and replaces it with the spiritual inheritance of Christ.

4. The power of the Holy Spirit gives us the passion, courage and wisdom to reach the lost of the world and love them towards Jesus’ salvation for them.

5. The Spirit brings a prayer life that exalts Christ, breaks evil bonds in our lives and builds us up.

6. Being filled with the Spirit brings joy.

Our text today gives us three more great results of being filled with the Spirit of God:

JOYFUL SINGING

Psalm 33:1 “Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.”

It is not the type of music we sing that matters, but the type of heart that is singing the music.

THANKFULNESS

MUTUAL SUBMISSION

How do we fill ourselves with the Spirit? Trust

So pray today and ask the Lord for strength to trust Him enough to ask His Spirit to take control of your life so you will understand and accomplish His will.
