A Certified Minority Owned Corporation

Effect of the US Government Each year, the US Government purchases more than $350 billion in good and services from the private sector. The Federal Government will contract in excess of $80 Billion to small businesses in the next fiscal year. There are over 50 agencies, all of which have a statuary obligation to contract from small businesses over 20% of everything it buys. There are set-aside opportunities available for women and minority owned businesses.

Effect of the US Government In 1998, the U.S. Department of Commerce released a study supporting a form a affirmative action for minority owned businesses. This study determined procurement areas where federal agencies could apply a ten percent “price adjustment evaluation” to small disadvantaged businesses; which are defined as those owned by African Americans, Hispanics, Asian Americans, and Native Americans.

The Small Business Administration The SBA has signed Memorandoms of Understanding with 25 federal agencies allowing them to contract directly with certified 8(a) firms (including MBE’s). Recent changes permit these firms to form joint ventures and teams to bid on contracts. Focus South is a Certified Minority Owned Enterprise. We would like to pursue a joint venture with your organization.

Certified MBE Status Focus South is a Certified Minority Business Enterprise. This means that the company has met the certification criteria established by the National Minority Supplier Development Council.

Benefits of Working with a MBE Increased Business: Ability to bid on contracts previously open only to companies doing business with MBE components. Most Fortune 1000 companies have Diversity Supplier Programs in place. Many will only work with companies who purchase at least 20% of the goods and services used as part of a business relationship with Certified MBE’s. Strengthens community bonds

Benefits of Working with a MBE Increased revenues due to opening of opportunities previously not available Expansion opportunities by spreading word that they are working with MBE Expansion of business by opening up new opportunities with existing clients Business conducted together applies towards 20% supplier diversity model established by Fortune 1000 companies. Minority Owned Enterprises have the ability to form joint ventures and strategic partnerships! How does this benefit our strategic partners?

Benefits of Working with Focus South Focus South only wants the percentage of the business we can accommodate. Adaptable technology for seamless integration. Items in our warehouse accessible through your software. State of the art facility in ideal location. Immediate access to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and all Atlanta Interstate highways. Both CSX and Norfolk Southern rail cargo yards are less than 20 minutes by truck.

Our desire is to build a long term and mutually beneficial partnership
