 A program that searches documents for specified keywords and returns a list of the documents where the keywords were found.programkeywords  like Google, Alta Vista and Excite that enable users to search for documents on the World Wide Web.

 Those wishing to locate something would enter a query about what they’d like to find and the engine provides links to content that matches what they want.

Search: The 2nd largest search engine on the web (as defined by a September 2007 Nielsen Netratings report.
