 Malaria originated in Africa.

Fever, chills, headaches, sweating, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, dry cough, muscle or back pain, and an enlarged spleen.

 “Malaria has been known to mankind for thousands of years. Around 7,000-12,000 years ago with increase in temperatures in Africa, rise in humidity creating new water sources and the start of agriculture in the Middle East and North East Africa there were several water bodies and pools of water.” (Mandal).

 According to the CDC the treatment of malaria depends on many factors such as: disease severity, species of malaria parasite causing the infection, and where in the world the infection was transferred. Additional factors include age, weight, and pregnancy status may limit the available options for malaria treatment.  2 characteristics help determine the probability that the organism is resistant to certain antimalarial drugs.
