Kombis 8003 Index block Overview Principle Function   Principle Function The KOMBIS 8003 Index block is designed to weld shoulders and fit caps onto pre cut and formed laminate tubes. It is made up of specialized stages for specific operations arrange around a central rotating table.

Main Functions The round table holds 12 mandrels, it rotates the tube bodies through different stages in order to complete its task.

Rotating Mechanism The rotation of the table is achieved by means of a Fibrotor® unit comprising of a servo motor, gears, bearings, worm-drive and housing

Table Position The Fibrotor unit has indexing cams and sensors used to position the rotating table to its correct orientation for each of the tasks required of the Kombis 8003 Capping unit

Position Cams The ‘motor off’ cam and its sensor are used to count the number of rotations of the shaft, the other cam ‘standstill’ produces a ‘standstill’ signal . Both these cams have corresponding sensors

The cam sensors are positioned under the table

Clamping Mechanism Each mandrel has a pair of clamps designed to hold the laminate tube onto its mandrel while welding and capping are taking place.

Clamping Mechanism The clamps are controlled by their associated pneumatic valves arranged around the central column.

Wireless Power Power for the servos motors, pneumatic valves, sensors and other electrical equipment fitted to the central rotating table is supplied by means of electrical resonant induction coupling across a small gap in the table’s bearing

Wireless Data Signal data from the main computer is transferred to the rotating table’s Omron controller by means of infrared light

Maintenance Schedule A FIBROTOR® rotary indexing table had been running for 3 shifts in automobile production since 1982, 17 years continuous. In 1999 it was overhauled and examined for signs of wear. All drive elements were still in proper working condition.

Maintenance Schedule After 16 000 working hours or after 70mil. tubes all lubricant must to be exchange. Use only recommended lubricant from Fibro manual documents!
