What is a color palette? O A color palette is the set of colors used consistently throughout a scene to maintain mood. O Generally, the desired mood sets the color palette that will be dominated by one of four general colors to maintain the mood: O Red O Yellow O Blue O Grey O The rest of the color palette is selected using contrasting and complementary colors from the color wheel.

Mood O Through color palettecolor palette O Red = passion O Yellow = cheerful O Blue = peaceful O Gray = gloomy O Dark colors identify opponents O Bright colors identify rewards or friends. O Through object shape O Sharp edges = scary O Soft edges = calming

How color is used? O Color is used to portray two different moods. O A lighthearted mood is portrayed in the game on the left. O A darker and more sinister mood is portrayed in the game on the right.

Castle Game O Situation: The Really Sweet Candy Company wants to have its candy appear as tokens in a video game. Your team has been selected to design a prototype game where the player will navigate platforms in a tower and collect candy. If your game prototype is selected, the game will be ported as a PC game, online game, and downloadable application for handheld devices.

Let’s do a little planning! O Take out a sheet of paper and a pencil/pen. O Put your name on your paper.
