Respect - Respect is an understanding that something has value and worth; whether it is a book in the library, a friendship, personal feelings or a teacher’s instruction. All these things should be treated as something of value. Push in chairs – push in your chairs when you get up from the table. Whisper voices – use your quiet inside voices when in the media center. Students are expected to listen to instruction, and not be a distraction to others. Students will work quietly and not disturb others who need a quiet place to read or study. Walk – don’t run

Make sure you have clean hands Take care of all the library books/materials Clean up after yourself Check out books before leaving Return books on time

Cost of a book (average price is $20.00). Protect the book’s spine - try not to bend the spine too far backwards to crack the spine Use Rulers - If you choose a book and then decide not to check it out then shelve it back from where you got it or leave it on the return counter Do not eat or drink while reading.

Keep books safely - Use a special bag or location in your classroom or home Use a bookmark. Love your book - When you carry your book to your classroom, give it a big hug across your chest to care for your book.

K, book, 1 week Gr 2, books, 1 week ; if you have a project then 3 books can be checked out for 2 weeks. You can renew your books twice. Gr 4,5,6 - 3 books ; if you have a project then 4 books can be checked out for 2 weeks. Books for project can be renewed. You can renew your books twice. Magazines: For reading in the library only ;Reference books (REF) – for reference only in the library No fines are assessed for overdue books, but the student cannot check out any new material until overdue items(for a month) are returned or as a last resort.... paid for

Charges will be assessed for lost books and refunded upon early return of the book in good shape. If a book has been damaged or lost there will be a charge for repair or replacement. When a student’s record is cleared he/she may again check out books.

Students should return books in the book return location/slot when they are finished with the book. Do not lend your book to a friend. You will be responsible if the book is lost, stolen, damaged, or not returned. If your class has a library period then all books must be returned by 8:30am on that day.
