ELEMENTARY MATH DAY BUILDING COMPUTATION SKILLS Math Day! Students will strengthen a computation skill to strengthen math ability.

THE BIG QUESTION Why are we struggling to accurately and efficiently solve grade-level math problems? And, what can we do to solve this problem and help others avoid the same issue? Math Day! Students will strengthen a computation skill to strengthen math ability.

PROJECT GOALS Master computation skills to help you to do better in math! Host a Math Day for elementary students to teach them computation and problem solving strategies and design tools for them to use at home to help in mastering the skills they need in 5 th and 6 th grade. Math Day! Students will strengthen a computation skill to strengthen math ability.

MILESTONES FOR THE PROJECT 1.Meet with teacher to identify skill to work on 2.Students meet at least 5 times with group of students working on same/similar skill 3.Action Plans due 4.Outline and Visual component of presentation due 5.All handouts, participant materials and evaluation forms due 6.Math Day dress rehearsal 7.Math Day 8.Formal evaluations due 9.Individual reflections due Math Day! Students will strengthen a computation skill to strengthen math ability.
