The First Day! Wednesday 19 th August 2015 Start of day: pm Children to enter through Cloakroom doors Parents welcome to stay to help find their peg and for “soft start”. Classroom assistant available to support in the class. Children to be collected at cloakroom doors. Please inform the office if you are running late.

The first two weeks at Strathkinness Primary School Week 1 School day: pm Week 2 School day: Pupils can stay for lunch and be collected at 12.45pm or can be collected without lunch at 12.00pm Playtime – am - supervised by Support Staff.

A day in the life of Primary 1 Journey to school: Pupils arrive by bus, car and walk to the school. Contact number for the bus queries is Ext Milk / Fruit: Milk is issued every day after playtime. Fruit is issued in the afternoon at least three times a week. Milk slips are normally issued at the end of each term and can be handed into the office. (However today you can order for next term). Playtime and snack: Healthy snack encouraged. There is a tuck shop available run by the pupils. Snacks cost a maximum of 50p. Lunchtime pm: Lunch slips are normally ed out to you and should be handed into the office on a Monday. (Today you will receive the menu for next term). What your child needs to bring!: PE Kit, water bottle, pencil, rubber and a pencil case. All items of clothing named Positive behaviour: We encourage all pupils to take responsibility for their actions and think of how they can help one another.

Parents as Partners Opportunities for parents to share in their child’s learning: Reporting: Wider achievements are weekly. Learning Logs monthly. Shared events: Open afternoons, trips, school events e.g. Talent Show Parent Helpers: If you are able to support the school with your time and skills please make the school aware. Parent Council: Meets once a term. School bag mail: Please check your son / daughters bag! Soft starts once a month. Parents Evenings twice a year. Text message alerts/ Office communicates by or by text. Please ensure you have submitted your most up to date contact details.

Class based questions: Speak to the Class Teacher at the end of day or arrange an appointment. Sensitive queries: Meet with the Head teacher or class teacher. Useful information School Bus: transport department authorise passes to those who live more than a mile away. Bus passes issued over the Summer holidays. Bus travel is not supervised. If the school doesn’t receive contact then parents will be phoned. Lateness: children who are late to arrive should enter via the school office.
