Drug abuse Abusing prescription drugs can be worse than using illegal drugs. It gives a higher chance of getting an overdose. Potential abuse of prescription drugs can be categorized with using cocaine. Most of the street drugs today used to be prescription drugs (like heroin and cocaine), but was taken away because of the addictive and harmful results. Especially lethal if mixed with alcohol. Is legal. Sometimes cough syrup can be addictive as well. Over-counter drugs can also be abused.
