Presentation transcript:

 Because of the war, fabric was rationed. Nylon and wool were both needed by the military. Rayon, the new synthetic fabric developed in the 1930's became the material most often used for the creation of ladies' clothing during the War.

 Christian Dior is to blame for the fashion of the 50s - especially the early 1950s. Women were craving a more elegant, sophisticated look  The new look featured a fitted jacket, with a nipped in waist, and a full-length calf skirt.

 The early 'Austin Powers' films were set in 1969 and provided a great place to get your 60s inspiration. Men were wearing velvet suits, ladies wearing mini dresses and both were wearing brightly colored, psychedelic clothing.

 Wide-legged, flared jeans and trousers were another fashion throughout most of the 70’s decade.  Women wore high-waisted, flared satin trousers or denims with sequined bra tops.  Men wore button up polo’s, khaki’s, or denim jeans

 1980s clothing styles for men included acid washed jeans, jean jackets, parachute pants, high top shoes and polo shirts.  Eighties fashion for women taught us terms like jelly bracelets, jelly shoes, neon clothing, leg warmers, shoulder pads, and jeans. They also brought back polka dots. Parachute pants.

 women wore tight-fitting trousers with elastic boot-straps denim button down shirts, neon colors, drainpipe jeans, oversized sweaters, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and black leather jackets.  wealthy young men wore khaki slacks, navy blue blazers and canvas boat shoes. Men also wore, straight-leg jeans like Levi’s, wool sweaters, black leather jackets, sheepskin coats, polo shirts.

 From the mid 2000s and onwards women wore skinny jeans, yoga wear, knee-high boots, trench coats and pea coats  Men wear black leather jackets, Nike air Jordan's, vans, boot cut jeans, tracksuits, light-colored polo shirts, white Adidas or Nike trainers and carpenter jeans.  Trench coat black leather jacket.
