Euro / VAT Exempt Client Compare and Contrast Euro VAT Customer Setup

Tax Category There will be only one Tax Category – Tax Standard (This encompasses both tax classes of 0% and 20%) (There may be a third class for goods such as fuels which are 5% VAT but I am not worried about that as my client doesn’t trade in fuels, yet)

Tax Category There will be two Tax types – Tax 20% and Tax Exempt 0%

Tax Category There will be two types of customer – Those that pay 20% and those that are Tax Exempt 0%, The tax exempt customer must present their Euro(Irish) Tax Registration details.

Customer Setup(Euro) This is a typical Euro Registered customer paying either cash or card. This is the Euro VAT Registered customer. NOTE: Customer Tax Category

Customer Setup(UK VAT Std) This is all UK customers paying either cash or card. NOTE the Customer tax category

Product Setup(VAT Std) This is a product that sells for £24.99 inc VAT. To get to the sell price as entered here take the VAT inclusive price / 120 * 100 = 20.82

Euro Sales Receipt As this is the Euro VAT Reg customer no VAT has been applied to the sale.

VAT (Std) Sales Receipt As this is a STD customer then VAT has been applied to the sale.

On Startup Select the Client Type NOTE: When a new sale is started no VAT is applied to any products. You need to scan or select a customer or create a new customer.

Final Sales Voucher Note the customer Name, Address, City and telephone number all listed on the receipt
