Some basic facts Who: Lev Vygotsky When: he was born on November 5, 1896 and died June11, 1934 Where: he was born in Russia

Lev Vygotsky He was a “Soviet Psychologist” and he also study “linguistics and philosophy at Moscow University.” He then became interested in doing research and so he did for the “Institute of Psychology.” (in Moscow)

Information Lev Vygotsky also “focused on the role of social and cultural factors in the making of human conscience.” This is what lead him to begin with his theory of social development.

Information continued “His works emphasize the socially transmitted knowledge of the teacher and the active engagement of the child in the learning process.”
