 We all know that jogging is a form of aerobic exercise that simply requires a person to run at a constant pace ranging from seconds to the length of a marathon. The question is whether you’re aware of its advantages and disadvantages.  Let’s take a look at the following pros and cons of jogging.

 Jogging strengthens the bone density and muscles of your legs.  The cardiovascular system improves by increasing the capacity of blood circulation and in turn making the heart stronger.  Endurance attained through jogging improves the respiratory system.  The digestive system is sped up and can help to relieve related problems.

 Jogging can also help you sleep better.  Your immune system gets a boost allowing you to better fight off colds and the flu.  Jogging helps to deal with mental health issues such as counteracting depression.  Jogging is also an effective way of burning a good amount of calories, which leads to weight loss as long as a proper diet is maintained.

 Now that you’re aware of the advantages of jogging, it’s time to move forward with this topic. As with any form of exercise, taking up jogging can result in physical injuries.

 The following are potential injuries or minor discomforts you can get if you take up jogging.  You can get blisters from sliding or rubbing your foot inside your shoes.  You can strain and/or even sprain your muscles, ligaments, and tendons.

 You could develop tendonitis, which is the inflammation of the bursa sac (contains fluid to cushion movement.)  You could trip and fall while jogging resulting in scrapes, bruising, and even bone fractures.  You can develop shin splints.  Your knee cartilage can deteriorate, which is known as “runner’s knee”.
