Spiritual Bouquet In Preparation for the visit of his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI Part Two For the Church

“Above all I entrust myself to your prayers” Pope Benedict XVI LEADER: As we start our time of prayer let us take a moment in silence before beginning with our prayer to the Trinity; ALL: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

“Above all I entrust myself to your prayers” Pope Benedict XVI LEADER: During this time of prayer we focus on the Church community preparing for the visit of Pope Benedict. We ask that we may prepare in prayer and thought, word and deed so as to receive the grace to listen and hear the message that he will bring. We ask that we have the courage and commitment to take his message, which is your message, to our families, our schools, our communities and our world.

“Above all I entrust myself to your prayers” Pope Benedict XVI READER ONE: "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.

“Above all I entrust myself to your prayers” Pope Benedict XVI READER TWO: Lord we ask that you hear our prayers and intercede on our behalf as we pray: for the Church In the United Kingdom That, through our words and actions, we will be authentic witnesses to Christ’s presence in our world today. Lord Hear Us ALL: Lord graciously hear us for all people of faith That, through our respect and tolerance for each others beliefs and practices, we can show the world that God is Love. Lord Hear Us ALL: Lord graciously hear us

“Above all I entrust myself to your prayers” Pope Benedict XVI LEADER: As we prepare for the visit of the Holy Father to the UK we pray together the words that Jesus taught us, ALL: Our Father...

“Above all I entrust myself to your prayers” Pope Benedict XVI LEADER: Each day we will be united in prayers of preparation with schools, parishes and families across the UK. As we look forward to welcoming the Holy Father to the UK, we finish our time of prayer together as we say: ALL: God of truth and love, we pray for Pope Benedict and look forward with joy to his forthcoming visit to our countries. May he be a witness to the unity and hope which is your will for all people. We make our prayer through Christ our Lord, Amen Our Lady Mother of the Church Pray for Us St. Andrew Pray for Us St. George Pray for Us St. David Pray for Us
