Coordination and subordination

Coordinating conjunctions  -joins nouns, pronouns, verbs, prepositional phrases, adjectives, adverbs  For And Nor But Or Yet So Because A. my alarm never went off, I B. was over ten minutes late to my biology class, C. so my professor let me take the exam anyway, despite D. his strict tardy policy.

 C  So indicates an expected result  But or Yet would be better because they show contrary action  Only a few questions appear like this on the SAT
