MEDICAL ETHICS COURSE OUTLINE Instructor: Maha Arafat

Course Code: BMS 234 Credit hours: 2 Contact hours: 2

COURSE OUTCOMES: On completing the course, students should: Know and understand the Oath and codes of Medical Ethics and know about the institutions that issued these codes and ethics like World Medical Association (WMA) or others. Comprehend well the main Morals of a Physician and how they affect the well-being and good health of the patient.

Be able to differentiate between Ethics, Rights of human beings, Law, and how they relate to each other. Comprehend and apply the duties of Physicians towards their patients, community, colleagues, profession, and themselves.

Know how to document all the data and information and keep confidentiality of the patient. Know and comprehend all rules and regulations and,violations when making any decision regarding the patient's case.

Know and comprehend all rules, regulations and, violations of either engaging and participating in a research or interpreting and applying the results of a research to the patients.
