Online Quizzes Please sign in to myblueeagles.com and open your site manager. Why make quizzes online with the school’s web-site? Students can easily find and take them. The web-site has some good tools for compiling results electronically. The web-site can provide continuity between classrooms – students will see the same format. Teachers of the same subject can easily use the same quizzes.

Online Quizzes Why online? Students can take an "open internet" quiz Grading is done automatically without shuffling papers Students can take the quiz outside of class and receive instant feedback It is easy to compare performance across sections You can easily keep an electronic record of the quiz responses and results

Online Quizzes Challenges Technology issues are a possibility Teacher feedback to students is less comprehensive Short answer responses are more difficult to grade than on paper. Quiz setup takes time / there is a learning curve Keeping students on task can be difficult But online is still worth doing in many cases!

Online Quizzes “Best fit” situations for online quizzes/surveys Electronic student iPad / Computer sign out. Introductory student surveys / other surveys Short True/False, Matching, Multiple Choice quizzes.

Online Quizzes Example: On your iPad (or a student one from the cart) please go to and find Andy Eberly under staff pages. Click the “Computer / iPad sign out” on the left and sign out your ipad.

Online Quizzes Example: From this electronic sign out, a teacher can have an electronic comprehensive list of every computer and iPad every student used all year. No more paper sign out! In a perfect world, we would never need to reference it.

Online Quizzes Here is the general process for creating the electronic sign-out (or any survey/quiz): Sign in to and open Site Managerwww.myblueeagles.com 1. Create the quiz/survey 2. Link the quiz/survey to your web-site for students to access 3. After finished, process the results (and possibly make the quiz/survey inactive).

Online Quizzes Step 1: Create the Quiz/Survey Click “Forms & Surveys"

Online Quizzes Step 1: Create the Quiz/Survey Click “New Form / Survey” and name it “Computer and iPad Sign out.”

Online Quizzes Step 1: Create the Quiz/Survey Click "Options" to set the end date and then activate it with the inactive/active button.

Online Quizzes Step 1: Create the Quiz/Survey Click on the survey and then “Insert” to enter the questions.

Online Quizzes Step 1: Create the Quiz/Survey In the "choose an item type" drop-down are numerous question types. You will enter in questions one at a time (this can be time-consuming). Check the "Required" box for each question. This will make it so students cannot skip questions. You can enter open-ended questions, multiple choice, etc.

Online Quizzes Step 1: Create the Quiz/Survey Create these questions, making each required. To make it faster, you can copy questions. 1. What is your first name? (Open-Ended One Line) 2. What is your last name? (Open-Ended One Line) 3. Which computer lab are you using? (make this one a "choice - option buttons" question and type in the computer lab options) 4. What is your computer or iPad number? (Open-Ended One Line)

Online Quizzes Step 2: Link the Quiz/Survey to your web- site Now you have created the survey (close it). Move on to Step 2: Link the Quiz/Survey to your web-site.

Online Quizzes Step 2: Link the Quiz/Survey to your web- site Click “Section Workspace” under your name and then “New Page”

Online Quizzes Step 2: Link the Quiz/Survey to your web- site Scroll down, choose "Flex Page" and name it "Computer and iPad sign-out" then hit save.

Online Quizzes Step 2: Link the Quiz/Survey to your web-site Click on the page you just created, type in "Click Here to sign out your computer or iPad", highlight "Click Here" and click the form link button.

Online Quizzes Step 2: Link the Quiz/Survey to your web- site Find the survey you created, hit save and you're there. You have completed Step 2. Before you can process any results, you need someone to take your survey. Have someone go to your web-site and click the link to sign out a computer or iPad.

Online Quizzes Step 3: Process the results Click on Forms/Surveys again and then the Reports tab. Click Export Data, select "Export Data to Excel" scroll down and click the green "Export Data"

Online Quizzes Overall Process Create your own quiz by following the same procedure: 1. Create the survey under "Forms & Surveys“. Name it, Activate it, set the date range, and add all the questions and set point values for correct answers. 2. Go back to "Section Workspace" and create a flex editor app to link it up to your web-site. Type in what the link will say and then link it using the “Insert Form Link” button. 3. After your students take the quiz, go back to "Forms & Surveys" click "Reports" and export your grades to an excel file. In excel you can sort students and count points.

Online Quizzes Overall Process You can access an instructional video on the S drive showing this same process. Look for it under “Eberly’s Files” There are other useful options you can take advantage of under export such as “Include unique response ID” and “Display sum total of point values column.”
